April 2016
The factory fire
Before Tom—soon to be the creator of Forbidden13—started the brand, he was working at a T-shirt printing company in Nottingham. One morning, everything changed. He turned up for work only to find the building engulfed in flames, completely inaccessible.
With the factory gone, his boss gave him a day off, and not long after, placed him in a factory in Leicester. There, Tom found himself in a small office alongside a clothing brand. Watching their passion, drive, and lifestyle up close lit a spark in him. It was the push he needed—the moment he decided to take a risk, spend his house deposit, and pour everything into building something of his own.
That spark became Forbidden13.

The day the brand launched
On this day, we took a leap of faith and launched our small clothing brand from a spare room in Nottingham. Instead of saving for a house deposit, we invested everything into bringing our vision to life—creating pieces we believed in and sharing them with the world.
What started as a risk quickly became a passion. We were driven by the excitement of working with models, building connections, and pushing our name out there. More than just clothing, it was about seeing if we could turn our ideas into something real, something people could connect with.
